What personal data we collect and why we collect it

We only collect your first name and your email address on the Contact Us form. We collect the same on the Subscribe page, for the sole purpose of notifying you when we publish a new article. We use Hubspot to provide a contact form and forward your contact info to us directly.

Currently we do not collect any comments on posts and rely solely on the contact form on our website, as a simple matter of minimizing the administration and management of this website.

But if we did, visitors would leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Any media used by this website will have all meta data stripped out.

Any images we upload have all meta data stripped out, not only to protect the privacy of the image source but to also minimize the filesize and ensure a faster load for the website user.
